Glitter French Manicure with Video Tutorial

We went to CVS a while back and I found a really pretty pink glitter polish. It's SinfulColors "Pinky Glitter" 830. It was only about $2-3 and it's one of my favorite brands even though its so cheap. Then we were looking around the store and in the clearance I found a L'Oreal Paris top coat "The Shift Me" 805. I'm not sure how much we paid but it's really pretty! I used Sally Hansen for the base and top coat and ORLY for the white tips. They're in the video.

I've decided to try making my first video tutorial so here it is along with some more pictures. I know it may not be that good but it's my first one, so if anyone wants to give me some tips it's much appreciated! I think these things just take a bit of practice and hopefully in time I'll find my way. :)

4th of July Manicure & Pedicures

I painted my mom toes and step moms toes and finger nails for the 4th of July since it's about a week away. I think in total it took me about 3 hours so about an hour on each. For me that is pretty good time. I always spent a really long time on my nails and since I've been doing theirs I think I'm getting better at it.
I got new dotting tools and some brushes so I really wanted to try them out. The jewel on the fireworks is a blue star. The brands I used were Sally Hansen, OPI, Essie, SinfulColors, and ORLY. They're all brands that I like. SinfulColors is definitely a great brand if you want a quality nail polish but don't have much money to spend on it. I recently bought some I think it was only $2-$3. Sally Hansen is another favorite of mine as you can probably tell from my other blog posts. ORLY I just got recently and it seems really nice. It was about $7-$8 but the cap has a grip to open it easily. I've never seen a nail polish with that it was very interesting.

Beginning of my Braces

Next post

June 10th I got my braces on. I need 4 premolars extracted because I have a lot of crowding so they didn't put wires on yet. I'm getting them extracted on July 8th and the wire will be put on the 15th. Above is a picture from the day I went to get them on, before they were put on obviously. The 2 at the bottom sticking out weirdly are my canines and on the top you can see 1 of them is high above my other teeth. The other 1 is a bit higher and is hidden by my lip in this picture.

Below is a picture I took the day they were put on. There's no wire and they are radiance braces (I think).

Here is a few days after I've had them. I was just taking more pictures. You can see in the 2nd picture they aren't very noticeable at all. In the 3rd picture you can see where they left the brackets off the teeth to be extracted.

When I first got them on they put blue cement on my molars. It seems like it's the same stuff they fill your teeth with but blue. It's so that my front top teeth won't bite the brackets off. This picture was taken after I went to get more on because it had kind of chipped away and my front tooth was touching the bracket. She put a lot on which is nice but bad at the same time. I have a very hard time eating since my teeth aren't touching. The gap is pretty obvious as it is and even more so if you compare it to the first pictures.

The pictures below are me with my mouth closed completely.

Doing this makes me laugh a lot lol

If you're considering getting braces is definitely good to get a second or even third opinion and find one you're comfortable with because you will be seeing them a lot and they're changing your mouth (possibly sending you to get teeth removed like me!). The first orthodontist I went to was pretty rude to me basically saying I had ugly teeth which I already felt bad about like it's so unprofessional to even imply that to a patient. He kept telling me over and over that if I had come when I was 12 they could've expanded my mouth instead of extracting teeth. I ended up crying because it's like I'm not 12 anymore I'm almost 18. I felt like I was to late. The thought of having extractions scared me. It was a horrible experience. We found a new orthodontist who is very nice and I feel like his treatment will be better because the first guy said it would take a year or year and a half which didn't seem right to me. My new orthodontist says 2 years or more which seems like a more usual treatment because the bone needs time to regrow and heal. My new orthodontist is nice and he and his employees handle my anxiety well. I feel safe with them that they are doing the right things. They're charging us less and gave me a whole goodie bag of stuff. Below you can see everything I got. A reusable bag. Oral-b electric toothbrush with 2 ortho heads and this other strange looking one. Crest alcohol free mouthwash. Lots of wax. She gave me extra because of the weird positions my teeth are in. Chapstick. Crest pro health toothpaste which I'm allergic to apparently. Oral-b floss stings made for braces and surprise earrings I had no idea I'd get them. They look like my brackets.

Stripes and Spikes Green Pedicure

I use nail guides usually to do my French nails and I've seen people use scotch tape for different designs so I decided to try it.

I painted on a base coat first then painted the light green in two coats. I made sure it dried all the way every time then cut the strips of tape in whatever shape I wanted. You can see I tried lots of different stuff. I put the tape on my hand to get a little of the sticky off and made sure to press them on really good and left extra so I could peel it off. Once I got them stuck on I painted one coat of dark green. I pull anything like that off right after I paint it but I take my time and peel slowly. Sometimes the polish is a bit thick and it kinda does like a melted cheese thing if you get what I mean. I've never tried letting it dry but I see the nail guide instructions tell you to do that. After I did all that I put the top coat on.

From left to right their names are:
Sally Hansen diamond strength base and top coat (I'm not completely sure on the name but you get the idea)
Gargantuan Green Grape
Amazon...Amazing
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri

I really love all of these polishes and it was a lot of fun experimenting with the tape.
