Simple 4th Of July Nails

If you found my 'Fourth Of July American Flag Nail Art' nails too difficult, you might like these a bit better! It's really just the base for the flag nails. I just thought it looked so pretty by itself! You could add clear and/or blue gems to give it an even more festive feel, or paint a few nails blue, or white, or whatever! Endless possibilities.
Either way these polishes (OPI Thrill of Brazil, Sally Hansen Golden-I) are great colors for the 4th. I bet they would be great for Christmas too! Very simple but so pretty!

Fourth of July American Flag Nail Art

The 4th of July is coming up!! And while I'm not in the U.S currently, I'm still planning to celebrate over here! I hope you all have a lovely Independence Day!!

Polish Used

OPI - The Thrill of Brazil (red), Suzi Says Feng Shui (blue)
L.A Colors - Art Deco white
Sally Hansen - Golden-I

How To

Paint the base colors, red and gold
You can do what I did, or choose any combination of nails you like. I think silver would look great in place of gold here as well. Lots of possible variations here!

Paint the white stripes
Try to space the lines so the thickness of the red matches the white. I used L.A Colors Art Deco, which has a slender brush specifically meant for this type of thing, it makes it so much easier. Otherwise, use tape! Cut strips of tape evenly in size. Then place them on the nail, leaving gaps between to make the white stripes. Paint over them in white and peel the tape off to reveal the red left underneath!

Paint blue rectangles in the corner of your nail
You may end up doing squares or something if your nails are smaller. It doesn't have to be a rectangle exactly.
I didn't use anything fancy here. Just painted them on very carefully. Use guides if you need to. And you may want 2 coats here if the color underneath is showing through.

Paint many small dots on the blue rectangle
You probably won't fit all 50 dots, so just make them small. I use a dotting tool. You can use a needle or tooth pick as well. I've heard of people using pin heads but the dot may be large. There are many household items you can use for this!

Add 2 small gems to the base of the gold nails
Use a little clear nail polish as a glue, or simply use nail glue! Apply with tweezers if you're having trouble otherwise.

Paint on the top coat,
And you're done!!

If enough people send stuff to me (mostly around holidays, I love holiday themed nails!!) I may make a post with all the pictures, of course not without permission! So if you've got 4th of July nails, from this year or past years, send them my way for a feature! ðŸ˜„
 Happy 4th!

2016 Collection Swatches: Wet'n'Wild - Rain Check

Another great Wet n Wild polish. It's a great budget brand. I believe it was only $2-3.
I love this color. It reminds me of unicorn blood from Harry Potter. ðŸ˜‚
