Drag Marble Jack-O-Lantern Nails | Video Tutorial

I love Halloween! Jack-O-Lanterns are one of my favorites. I've been super into drag marbling lately so I thought why not try a drag marble Jack-O-Lantern?!
I'll be out of town this Halloween visiting family, so I'm not sure how much other Halloween stuff I'll be able to do. I'd been itching for a Halloween design for weeks and finally got around to it! Hope you like it.

And remember, I'm doing a Halloween fan feature this Halloween, so be sure to send in your fall/Halloween nail designs to be featured on the blog!!

Drag Marble Fall Nails | Video Tutorial

After being told by multiple people that my Red & Gold Glitter Nails weren't "fall enough", I thought I better try to do something that wouldn't leave anyone guessing as to what theme I was going for! The leaves are so beautiful in my town so I decided on a red, orange, and yellow design. It reminds me of a pile of leaves, and fall camo!

Red & Gold Fall Glitter Nails | Video Tutorial

Fall! One of the best times of the year. We just had our first frost here, the sun is setting later, the leaves are turning reds and yellows, so I was feeling super inspired to do some fall nails! I decided to do something with glitter, just cause!

Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream & Pumpkin Pie Without Evaporated Milk | Collaboration WITH JeanetteJewel

As I've mentioned briefly in a previous post, I brought a TON of snacks for my in-laws! My sister in-law, Jeanette, wanted as many Oreo flavors as I could find! Among those, I brought hershey bars, sour patch kids, skittles, gold fish snacks, and so much more. One of those 'snacks' was a can of Libby's Pure Pumpkin. My in-laws have never had pumpkin pie, or pumpkin for that matter. While Søren has visited me twice in the US, we totally forgot both times to make or buy a pumpkin pie! I just had to bring some with me so everyone could try it.

Today we all got together to make the pie! The recipe calls for evaporated milk, however we didn't have that. Check out what we used instead on my sister in-law's blog, JeanetteJewel! I think it may even be better than the original recipe!!

Instead of using the usual whipped cream for our pumpkin pie, we decided to make homemade vanilla ice cream!! It is so delicious! And easy!

Ingredients/Ingredienser

2 large eggs / 2 store æg (Pasteuriserede!)
3/4 cup (160 g.) sugar / 160 g. sukker
2 cups (½ liter) heavy or whipping cream / ½ liter fløde
1 cup milk / 1 dl. mælk
2 tsp vanilla sugar / 2 tsk vanille sukker

Directions/Fremgangsmåde

Whisk the eggs for 1-2 minutes in a bowl until they're light and fluffy.
Add the sugar a little at a time and continue mixing for around 1 minute, or until completely blended and then add in the vanilla sugar.
Whip the cream in another bowl and then add it to the egg-mixture.
Slowly mix it all together until completely combined.

If you don't have an ice cream machine,
Put the ice cream mixture in a tupperware like container and put it in the freezer. Make sure your container will withstand being in the freezer.
Stir the ice cream once every hour until it's creamy like soft serve ice cream.
Now let it freeze completely, and when it's solid, enjoy!

If you do have an ice cream machine,
Pour it into your machine and let it churn for about 50 minutes.
Pour it into a tupperware like container and put it in the freezer to freeze solid.

______

Frosty Glitter Nails

It's been snowing here, so I was inspired to do something more winter themed. I wanted something that reminded me of the snow, but also something more simple than usual.

Halloween Aftermath

This year I got to celebrate Halloween with my fiance. We went as little red riding hood and the big bad wolf. He's never really had a proper Halloween being from Denmark (according to him), so we were super excited!!

Here are some preview pictures I took after we had gone Halloween shopping and tried on the new stuff we bought.

I bought some new foundation so I had to test it out and make sure I knew what I was doing with it. It turned out really well.

Here are some good pictures of my makeup from the party. I was able to get it about the same at my trial run.

Fake lashes.. Second time I've done them, what a pain to put on lol.
Before we left.
When we got back home, my lip gloss is gone.
A picture Søren took while we were getting ready.
First picture at the party!

They made a cute photo booth for the guests.

Cutie Lola.

Me wearing Søren's mask.

Contest winners. I won sexiest! The others were scariest and funniest. The prizes were car magnets. You can see their magnets in the picture but I didn't have mine. It's a dark sugar skull with blue and purple.

They requested that everyone bring a dish, so I made these super cute Halloween themed deviled eggs. The most difficult to make were the spiders. They took forever since I had to cut 8 slices for each egg half. I ended up doing a triple batch because they were the last ones I made and I had a lot of eggs (less than perfectly peeled ones especially) left over.
I enjoyed making the eyes the most, even though I think the pumpkins were definitely the easiest.
I use the tip of a knife to add the red food coloring to the whites of the eyes. I used scallions for the pumpkin stem and sprinkled them with paprika for more color. I did add a little bit of food coloring to make them more orange. I used large eggs and large olives.
One thing I do not recommend would be putting candy corn, or any unwrapped candy for that matter, on an open plate with your eggs. Some liquid from the eggs mixed with the candy corn, soaked into the egg whites, and created one of the most disgusting things I have ever eaten. My other two plates were fine because the candy was separated.

I used a very basic recipe since I prefer them like that.

6 eggs
1/4 cup mayo
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
Salt and pepper to taste
Add food coloring until you get the desired color

The whole group! What a fun bunch of people! :)

I hope everyone had a great Halloween!!

Spooky Halloween Graveyard Ombre Nails

I saw a lot of inspiring Halloween nails but the graveyard ones really stuck out the most to me this year. I saw a lot of people using stencils for it. I really want some of those! As you can probably tell, I did not use a stencil. :P

Below is a picture of a test I did. I was playing around with different polishes to get the look I wanted. This picture is with black and red polish sponged over my bare nail. Originally I was going to do black and red but after I tried it with a white base coat it was just to harsh to do the design I wanted, which is when I tried L'Oreal Paris The Shift Me. That lightened it up so I could do my designs.
I really liked how it looked without a white base coat as well which is why I included this picture for you. :)
