Snazaroo & Diamond FX Face Paint Review

When I was little, I lived in Las Vegas for a few years. I remember going to Circus Circus all the time and getting my face painted. It was like my favorite thing! And anywhere there were face painters as I grew up, I always wanted them to paint me. It was so much fun and they were so talented. Even to this day I absolutely love getting my face painted. Even full face designs!

I've always been 'artsy' in all kinds of ways. I tried acrylic painting for a time. I wasn't very good at it but I didn't practice very long either. It just wasn't for me. I think nail art incorporates a similar painting style as face painting. Cute little details, swirls, lines, etc. So once I came to that conclusion I decided I ought to be pretty good at it!

So far I love it, and I don't think I'm half bad. ðŸ˜Š

Snazaroo Face Paint Palette

Face paint is normally $6 per cake or more. This palette is $35 right now on Amazon. Answers on the Amazon listing claim they're full sized pots, and they do look it, at first. As I used the paints and as I pushed down with my sponge the paint shifted and went further into the plastic mold. So that definitely proves they aren't full pots but are simply placed higher in the dish to appear that they are. I figure they're actually more like half a pot. A little disappointing however if you're just starting out it's a great deal. You get a nice amount of paint and a variety of colors which you can do most designs with. Plus, when they run out, you can refill the palette with more paints if you so choose. I've barely made a dent in them!

Diamond FX

I've heard people say both Diamond FX and Wolfe FX paints are the best white paint, though opinions vary. Diamond FX is a little cheaper so I went with that. I haven't tried Wolfe so I can't give my opinion on it right now. I hope to try it later.
A lot of people use these paints for line work. You just have to see what works for what you want to do. These are a lot better for lining than the Snazaroo white and black. I chose to take advice I read all over the internet about face painting. It lead me to the conclusion I should get black and white in Diamond FX, or any similar paint, and other colors in a different, more blendy brand to start off with.
I purchased the 32gm sized pots just to try. They offer larger ones as well.

Here are a few designs I've done so far. I'll be making individual posts for them and my other designs in the near future!

Diamond FX White & Snazaroo Blue

Mixed Snazaroo pink and blue to make purple. Snazaroo white, pink, and yellow, Diamond FX Black.
Located on my calf, below my knee. I know it looks a little weird where my knee bends, but it really is just my leg haha.
One stroke crown using Snazaroo green and white

Overall I love these paints and think they're great. I recommend them to anyone just starting out. 😊
