What's in my bag?! I know it's something you've all been just dying to know!
Haha, well right now I'm using a small shoulder bag from Icing, so there's hardly anything in it compared to what I usually carry around.
First off, the bag itself.
I absolutely love it. I love the style and it holds my basic items with room to spare. I have the strap completely out, or at least almost. Sometimes I make it shorter but this is how I've been liking it lately. It's light and cute. The strap is comfortable on bare skin. I love it for summer time so I'm not weighed down by a large purse while I'm out and about enjoying the outdoors.
Orthodontic elastics
I carry 1 bag of elastics with me. You've got to have some on you all the time. Pictured here are 2 bags to show you the front and back. You can draw on the teeth to help you remember where they need to go, but I have a good memory and don't usually need reminding. Plus they give me a little paper each visit that shows what I need to do just incase.
GUM Soft Picks
These are a must for me as things get caught in my braces a lot. Super embarrassing when you're out and about with no tooth brush! These are much smaller than a toothbrush and I don't normally require a toothbrush while I'm out so they save space and get the job done!
Burt's Bees tinted lip balm
Got this for Christmas. I'm just crazy about it! My lips are a pink/red color naturally so this just enhances their color, but some days they do look a bit pale so it helps a lot then. I generally use this if I want to look awake, so pretty much any time I leave the house. It's a staple for me now. I also love their pomegranate chapstick.
The golden chapstick
A friend gave this to me. I believe it's some kind of homemade mixture someone was selling. I can't remember what it has in it but it's various oils and other things. I really love it and it doesn't break me out like most chapsticks tend to.
White eyeliner
I bring this along just incase I ever need to touch up my makeup. I LOVE white eyeliner to give my eyes a more open, popping, doll like look. I hate looking sleepy/sick (as I mentioned above with the tinted lip balm) so this is a must have for me! Really love this liner from Palladio.
Sometimes I take a brown or black eyeliner instead. I use these 3 colors in my waterline, though I use white the most often.
Compact mirror
This mirror has 2 different magnifications. It came with some really nice tweezers but I'm not sure where they went. I love this little mirror. Not much else to say about it!
Eternally In Amber combs
With hair covering my butt, I don't dare leave the house without a comb! These are the 2 I bring with me. They're both travel size combs. Eternally In Amber combs are seamless!
Hope to be reviewing these for you all very soon!
MotionEaze!
I've dealt with motion sickness my entire life. I've tried Bonine tablets, special wrist bands and Dramamine (which to be fair, dramamine does work for me, if taken beforehand.)
This is the only product I've used that will stop the sickness after the fact. It goes behind your earlobes in that little dipped in, kind of hollow area. It's just made of various oils. It's a life saver and I don't go anywhere without it. It works so well I actually don't carry dramamine with me anymore.
| I have a prescription label over a travel size bottle of Dramamine. That's why it's all white as I've edited out my personal info. |
Xanax
I don't think this has ever come up on this blog before, but I suffer from pretty severe generalized and social anxiety. I was first diagnosed at 17 after dealing with it my entire life. I was also diagnosed with selective mutism (normally a childhood illness, but if left untreated can go into adulthood), but I think that's improved a lot honestly! Other diagnoses were depression and misophonia. I really don't mind talking about this topic so feel free to ask any questions, and I'm including the other diagnoses just incase anyone is curious!
While my anxiety feels like it's gotten worse, it feels like it's gotten better too. It's definitely evolved
from the first time I stepped into that doctor's office at 17.
I could go on and on about my journey through all this, but I'll keep it short here since it isn't really on the topic of the post.
If you'd like something more in depth on this, please leave a comment and let me know.
IPhone wallet
This wallet came with the purse. It's designed for you to put your iPhone in but I don't have one of those! I just keep my cards and money in it. I love the gold shimmery spots on it!
Samsung Galaxy Avant
Of course you don't leave the house without your phone. Though mine isn't activated I take it anyways for pictures. Plus you never know when you'll run into wifi these days! I got this cute kitty case when I first got the phone, unfortunately the color is slowly coming off. So sad!
USB cord & plug
I may or may not take this depending on where I'm going. I normally do just in case but sometimes I have other things in my purse and it won't fit. Most of the time when I decide not to take it, I end up needing it.
Powerbank
A gift from my lovely mom. It's a high capacity powerbank so it's larger than some others, but it has more power to give you. I may take this in place of the USB plug mentioned above, especially if I know I won't be near any plugs for most of the time. Some times I take both. It fits nicely in the outside pouch on the purse.
Random nickel
This nickel fell out when I was emptying my purse so I included it. A coin purse doesn't fit well in this particular purse. I generally toss coins into my wallet and empty them out at home when it gets too full.
Other items I might throw in are:
Small eyeshadow palettes
Mascara (rarely)
Spin pins
Hair sticks
Lipstick/lipgloss
Which items I take depends on a few things.
I'll only take eyeshadow and mascara if I'll be gone all day. I touch my eyes and less up my eyeshadow sometimes.
I take spin pins or hair sticks if I plan to wear my hair down. They're smaller than a ficcare so they fit nicely in my purse. If I need to secure my hair for some reason I'm able to easily. And of course if I put a lip product on I take it with me because it's inevitable that it will come off and need touched up.
I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Let me know if you'd be interested in similar posts in the future. ❤
